After starting a new diet, I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning, and as I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies.
RECIPE
Califlower & Ham Soup
1 cup sliced celery
1 ½ cups chicken broth
1 cup evaporated milk
¼ cup water
2 cups diced cooked ham
2 cups sliced cauliflower, fresh or frozen
1 can cream of potato soup
2 Tbsp flour
½ cup grated cheddar cheese
In large covered saucepan, cook celery and cauliflower in chicken broth until almost tender, about ten minutes. Do not drain. Set aside. In mixing bowl, gradually stir in milk into diluted potato soup. Blend water, flour and pepper. Stir into soup mixture. Pour over cauliflower. Stir in ham. Simmer over low heat for ten minutes. Stir in cheese just before serving.
Temptation and The Bakery
After starting a new diet, I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning, and as I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies. I felt this was no accident, so I prayed, "Lord, it's up to you-if you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery."
And sure enough, He answered my prayer….on the eighth time around the block, there it was!

Dear Mom:
As I walk through my museum of memories,
I owe you...for your TIME. Day and night.
I owe you...for your EXAMPLE. Consistent and dependable.

The circumstances amid which you live determine your reputation;
the truth you believe determines your character.
Reputation is what you are supposed to be; character is what you are.
Reputation is the photograph; character is the face.

These Scripture promises offer comfort and assurance in times of need:
When you are the neediest, He is the most sufficient………………………..2 Corinthians 12:9
When you are completely helpless, He is the most helpful…………………..Isaiah 50:7
