Here it is October already! I think it is obvious that for me, this has been a long, interesting, and challenging year so far. I didn't plan it that way…it just happened. It is going on seven months since I experienced the double compound fracture on my leg. On the day of the accident (February 28), I encouraged myself that I would be up and walking within eight weeks! Hmm…now you know I'm a true blonde!
As some of you may already know, I spend a lot of time on booking our itinerary of services. Due to the advance calendar planning that churches do, I usually have to call and book about six months to one year ahead of time in order to be included on a church's schedule. When talking to the pastor of a given church, I always describe what our ministry is all about. A few weeks ago, I had made a phone call and explained to a pastor that we would be coming through his area in a year. I told him that we provide music and altar calls, and that our total purpose is to see people come to Christ...
Happy New Year! It almost seems like just yesterday that I said that. A few years ago, my mother told me, "Missy, the older you get, the more quickly it will seem that life flies by." I didn't really grasp that until I turned 60. Whew…it seems like I had to put on a seatbelt for the fast lane since then!

Christmas is almost here! I'm afraid I'm not quite ready yet. Can any of you identify with me? When I get a bit anxious and overwhelmed, I have to sit down for a few minutes, take a deep breath, and say, "Come on, Gloria-it will all work out." The fact is, Christmas will come and go, whether we are "ready" or not. I keep reminding myself that it is about the Christ Child, so I need to relax!
