I sat in the bus almost oblivious to the hurry and scurry of the team members trying to push their way through the crowded aisle. Suitcases, briefcases, shoes, books, boxes, clothes, and clean-up bags strewn all over the bus aisle from the previous bus ride made it nearly impossible to walk without tripping over something. We were in Binghamton, New York, and there were thirty minutes until the evening service. As usual, we were fighting the clock to meet for pre-rally prayer time. I sat crumpled up in a heap on the couch in the front of the bus where I hoped I was safe from being trampled to death by the "hooves" of nine people, all trying to get out of the bus at the same time.
Larry and I were blessed to have our granddaughter, Myanna, with us for ten weeks last summer. We usually have our grandson, Dante', join us as well, but he is almost 15 and juggled a few part-time jobs this summer. My sister-in-law, Terry Brooks, once said referring to grandchildren, "Be sure and enjoy them all you can when they are little because they grow up so fast. They then find their own friends, have their own activities and they won't want to spend weeks with Grandpa and Grandma." We have taken that to heart and have enjoyed thirteen summers on the road with Dante' and now Myanna also for the past five summers. We only have two grandchildren so we nab every minute with them we can amidst our busy schedule.
Greetings from Arizona! We left Honolulu, which is on the beautiful island of Oahu, with its breathtaking scenery of brilliant flowers, tropic plants and mesmerizing ocean. It was definitely hard to leave. We had a marvelous month of ministry over there. The decisions for Christ were absolutely thrilling. We met people from literally all over the world. Within minutes we were no longer strangers but friends.
Greetings! What a wonderful week in paradise...Sounds like I'm referring to heaven writing that, ha! If that were true I'd be singing and shouting and strolling all over heaven! We are already in our last week of ministry here in Oahu, HI. Words can't explain how much we cherish the opportunity to minister to these sweet, loving people of the islands. A couple Sunday's ago we were at the City of Joy Assembly of God in Nanakuli with Pastor and Mrs. Farley. Pastor Farley is "turned on" for Jesus and his congregation follows his enthusiasm.
Aloha from Hawaii! On January 15th we boarded American Airlines in Minneapolis, MN, at 9:00 AM. It was one of those mornings I did not want to get out of bed as it was 4 below zero outside, and there were two below cozy blankets (this would be Larry and me). We were at our daughter, LaDawn's, home when the alarm went off at about 6:00 AM. I peeked out the windows and the outside world appeared frozen...and it was! The thought of leaving a warm bed, and cozy house to go outdoors was at that moment undesirable.
Greetings from Minneapolis, Minnesota! This month already reminds me of a speedometer on a car---each day is clicking away at an amazing speed. Nine days have already vanished!

Larry and I have had a busy month thus far taking care of office needs in Sisseton. We are now feverishly preparing and packing for our next on the road tour. It has been great to be home, allowing us the opportunity to work out of our home office wading through the various piles of paperwork that seem to accumulate in our absence. But now...both of us are ready to hit the road! We are anxious to sing, preach, and see lives changed through the grace and power of God.

There are times when things are going crazy and the pressure is on that my heart needs a jumpstart to make my face cheerful. I chuckle at the way God often brings that to pass. A few weeks ago I was in a huge Walmart. As usual, we were on a tight time schedule so I scurried in, grabbed my grocery cart, and raced up and down the aisles as if I was participating in the Indy 500. I had just gotten to the dairy aisle when I remembered that I had forgotten to pick up bread and bagels in the bread section. I zipped back through several aisles, picked up the forgotten items, threw them in the cart and raced off once again. I then left the cart for a few seconds to pick up bananas. When I stepped back to the card, a man was just beginning to push it.
Money may not be a regular topic of conversation in your home unless, of course, someone wants some! However, it is time to start talking to our kids about good money management if we want them to grow into educated, empowered and financial fit adults.
Once Larry and I counseled a young couple who supposedly had everything money could buy. The problem was that they fought all the time! They told us that one night they got into an intense argument and the wife finally yelled, "We don't agree on anything at all. Let's get a divorce!" She ran into the bedroom and he stormed out of the house, hollering back, "Okay! Okay!" He jumped into his Blazer and sped into the dark night. The word "divorce" shocked him. Suddenly he realized that he had real problems. He drove for hour in the mountains. About 4:00 a.m. his wife heard the Blazer squeal into the driveway. "Hey, honey," he shouted, "we both love the mountains! We do agree on one thing, so we can make it! Did you hear me, Barb? We both love the mountains!" He told us, "Larry and Gloria, I had to find something we could both agree upon. I found a basis on which to go back and begin to rebuild our marriage."
These tasty bars have all the favorites within from chocolate (of course) to coconut to nuts...Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.
