Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue with testing at the heart center in Tennessee. As we approach the celebration of this weekend, I wanted to share Larry's article from the newsletter with you …

Easter: we know the marvelous facts of the resurrection, the crucifixion, the burial of Jesus Christ in a borrowed tomb, the resurrection on the third day, and finally the ascension unto the Father. Yes, it happened; every fact is true. However, the question to ask may be…why did it happen? Let's look at the story behind the story.

Genesis 1:26 states, "And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness." It goes on to say in Genesis 2:7, "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, (at this point Adam is a mud mannequin similar to seeing a child make a sand castle along a beach) and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." God could now have fellowship with him, talk with him, and walk with him. Everything was perfect.

God explained to Adam what he expected of him. Then God gives Adam instructions. I call it the "one rule system"; there is only one "no-no." This "no-no" which is found in Genesis 2:16-17, "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." At this time, if Adam obeys this one rule, he is eternal, and you and I will never have a bad day. We, too, will live forever and ever. The Lord God warns Adam about death. What would you or I think if we heard from God that if we do something we will die? What would we think death was? I guess I would be thinking death meant a lifeless mannequin sand castle again.

The story continues on…Adam and Eve were tempted, and then failed to keep the one rule which consequently invoked the death clause. Adam and Eve now naked and ashamed hid from God. Adam and Eve now had a Problem—not a temporary one but an eternal one.

Let me be clear, Romans 5:12 says, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." That one man was Adam and through his sin, death passed upon all men. Adam introduced death to this world. This decision also had further consequences bringing in a new administration. The scriptures teach us that satan is the god of this world. Yes…this decision meant everyone's world changed! The Serpent now will not walk but slide on his belly…Adam will sweat and dig weeds and thistles…Eve will deal with the pain of childbirth. However, in all of this judgement and peril, there is also a pearl to be found, and here it is:

The pearl of promise is found in Genesis 3:15, "God says, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." The pearl of promise is that of a coming Messiah that will destroy death and return life through the Son of God as stated in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life," and in Matthew 1:21, "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." The Pearl of Promise IS A PERSON—THE VERY SON OF GOD. Heaven isn't sending the cavalry; it is sending Calvary.

There will be a final transfer of power from the administrator of death to life as stated in John 10:10. This brings us back to Easter and the proof that death will no longer exist as our Savior Jesus said, "I have the power to lay down my life and I have the power to take it again." (John 10:18) Both administrations continue for all eternity but they have different locations… Heaven or Hell. If you think your life is hell now, you haven't even touched the true reality of it.

Isn't it great you have a choice to decide which administration you want to serve under? "Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) Heaven knew we had an unsolvable eternal problem with great peril to which God enclosed a precious pearl of Promise—a person—The very Son of God—to defeat death with the proof of the resurrection. Choose the Promise today!
